What Is Viking Saga?
Every morning you tell the Oracle how you enter the day (hungry for glory, troubled, at peace, or weary), then draw one rune from the authentic Elder Futhark, the 24-character alphabet the Norse actually carved. Its attested meaning arrives woven into a new chapter of your saga: a story that remembers your past choices, brings back the companions you have met (a grizzled mentor, a rival, a shield-sister, a flame) and makes today's decision matter tomorrow. Some mornings the gods smile and the draw comes golden, its power doubled.
The daily draw is free, and stays free. Premium exists for those who want the saga to go deeper, but nothing is locked behind it that stops you reading your rune each morning.

Depth rather than access. The free draw stays complete: one rune, its attested meaning, your chapter. Premium unlocks the second path on every choice, lets you ask the Oracle one personal question a day, reveals reversed runes and their shadow meanings, opens the Past–Present–Future spread, and keeps your full journal: thirty days of chapters, each week sealed with a title written by the Norns. Are the rune meanings historically accurate?
Yes, within honest limits. Each meaning is drawn from the Old Norse rune poems and scholarly interpretations of the Elder Futhark, the same sources behind our published rune guides, down to the nine symmetrical runes that never appear reversed, as tradition dictates. Where history is uncertain, the app says so rather than inventing.
Can I use Viking Saga on my phone?

What happens if I miss a day?
Odin's Shield, free for every warrior, automatically protects your streak once per week if it is at least three days old. Miss more, and your stats fade a little… but the gods honour those who return: come back and you are greeted with a welcome gift, not just a penalty. You can also spend Divine Favor to restore a spent shield.
How is this different from other rune apps?
Three ways: real sources instead of horoscope filler; a continuous saga with memory (companions who hold grudges, choices that echo weeks later, chapters with names) instead of disconnected daily messages; and total honesty about what history does and does not tell us. It is a game built by people who publish research on the same runes.
